Guru Nanak College of Arts, Science and Commerce is one of the many educational institutions established by Guru Nanak Vidyak Society. Guided by the principles of purity, truth, charity and peace, the Sikh management established the college in 1989. It also opened a new chapter in the history of higher education in the state of Maharashtra. The aim of the Society in establishing this institution is to reach out to the educational needs of the people in the vicinity of the college and also to fulfill the needs of the ever growing population of the city. The Institution also aims at providing  the students an opportunity to develop an integrated personality, to foster a spirit of free thinking and above all to inculcate  love for humanity and love for truthful living. These indeed were the true teachings of Guru Nanak. The college provides all its students with a friendly and supportive study environment, high teaching standards, excellent facilities and support services to enrich learning and make them more confident to face the tough challenges of the ever changing global environment.

ABOUT THE TRUSTA young sapling planted initially has blossomed in to a tree spreading its branches and stems of education the example is Thakur Educational TrustThakur Educational Trust was formed by the Thakur family as a sense of responsibility of repaying the social debt. The trust was registered as a Public Trust in the year 1990 with an objective to lend a helping hand towards the welfare of the society and reform the educational system. In the year 1990, the trust kept its first step in the field of education and now it has become a conglomerate of premiere educational Institutions driven by Thakur family. The trust is a combination of premier educational Institutes, University accredited professional courses and autonomous courses. All the Institutions under this Thakur Educational Trust are ISO certified, which is an acknowledgement of the Institution capability to deliver and cater the need of the education with professionalism worldwide. The Thakur Educational Trust has catered various needs of the society including education from KG. to PG at all levels irrespective of sex, creed and religion.

Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 1994 with the launch of Commerce faculty. The Arts faculty was started in the year 1996. The college began with the primary objective of providing education to the lower socio-economic strata of the society who are very often the first generation learners. To increase the employability of the students the college launched self-finance courses from 2004 onwards. Under the self-finance courses BBI, BMS and B.Sc. (IT) courses are offered. The college has been sanctioned Research Centre in the Subject of Business Economics under the faculty of Commerce The College has undergone NAAC reaccreditation process in November 2011 and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.92.
