The Management of the college – Uttar Bharatiya Sangh, a Hindi Linguistic Minority Institution was established on 15th December 1949 by Hindi Speaking Community as a Charitable Organisation in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region under the Society Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. The founding fathers of the Uttar Bharatiya Sangh were concerned about the noble needs of the community and decided to share the responsibility by setting up cultural and educational institutions which could uphold the science of knowledge. This 65 years old non-profit organization started its activities with the motto 'Organisation is Strength' and offered dedicated service to the society in the field of culture, education and overall growth of youth population in our country. Initially their activities centered around philanthropy, cultural activities, health check-up camps, blood donation drives, relief work during natural disasters and financial assistance to needy students towards their education and health. Gradually their focus shifted to organizational capacity building through education, which motivated them to establish first a primary school known as Hindi Bal Vidya Mandir in 1978 followed by a secondary school in 1984 at Asalpha in Ghatkopar. In order to promote culture, an auditorium was built by the President Shri RN Singh in the memory of his father late Shri Babu Satyanarayan Singh, which was inaugurated in 2000. Maintaining the same pace of commitment, a Degree College, affiliated to the University of Mumbai was established during the academic year 2003 – 04 in the memory of late Shri Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh. The very next year a Jr. College named UBS Junior College of Science and Commerce (Maharashtra State HSC Board) was established in 2004 - 05. The journey which started in 1949 continues with future plans to set up Vocational Training Institute, Sports Academy, Guest House etc. to empower the nation.  The entire activities of Uttar Bhartiya Sangh is managed by fairly elected working committee members.Besides this to run the both institutions the college has monitoring body called College Development Committee, which is as follows: COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE SR.NO. DESIGNATION NAME 1. Chairman of the Trust Shri. ABOUT THE TRUSTA young sapling planted initially has blossomed in to a tree spreading its branches and stems of education the example is Thakur Educational TrustThakur Educational Trust was formed by the Thakur family as a sense of responsibility of repaying the social debt. The trust was registered as a Public Trust in the year 1990 with an objective to lend a helping hand towards the welfare of the society and reform the educational system. In the year 1990, the trust kept its first step in the field of education and now it has become a conglomerate of premiere educational Institutions driven by Thakur family. The trust is a combination of premier educational Institutes, University accredited professional courses and autonomous courses. All the Institutions under this Thakur Educational Trust are ISO certified, which is an acknowledgement of the Institution capability to deliver and cater the need of the education with professionalism worldwide. The Thakur Educational Trust has catered various needs of the society including education from KG. to PG at all levels irrespective of sex, creed and religion.

Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 1994 with the launch of Commerce faculty. The Arts faculty was started in the year 1996. The college began with the primary objective of providing education to the lower socio-economic strata of the society who are very often the first generation learners. To increase the employability of the students the college launched self-finance courses from 2004 onwards. Under the self-finance courses BBI, BMS and B.Sc. (IT) courses are offered. The college has been sanctioned Research Centre in the Subject of Business Economics under the faculty of Commerce The College has undergone NAAC reaccreditation process in November 2011 and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.92.
