N. L. Dalmia College of Arts, Commerce & Science has been established by the Niranjanlal Dalmia Educational Society (NLDES) which operates two centres of excellence in education, namely Niranjanlal Dalmia High School founded in 1991 and Niranjanlal Dalmia Institute of Management Studies & Research in 1995. The College aims to maintain the same commendable quality standards of education set by these two centres of excellence. The NLDES received permission from the State Government in 2018-19 to setup a new Degree College affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The College is offering courses in subjects that enhance the employability of students, offer wide range of career opportunities, open up avenues for entrepreneurship and increase the students’ competency for competitive examinations. Later, the NLDES aims for the natural progression of the Degree College to the post-graduate and doctoral levels with emphasis on research in basic and applied areas; subject to permission from statutory bodies. N. L. Dalmia College of Arts, Commerce & Science is a self-funded hindi linguistic minority college affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The trust was registered as a Public Trust in the year 1990 with an objective to lend a helping hand towards the welfare of the society and reform the educational system. In the year 1990, the trust kept its first step in the field of education and now it has become a conglomerate of premiere educational Institutions driven by Thakur family. The trust is a combination of premier educational Institutes, University accredited professional courses and autonomous courses. All the Institutions under this Thakur Educational Trust are ISO certified, which is an acknowledgement of the Institution capability to deliver and cater the need of the education with professionalism worldwide. The Thakur Educational Trust has catered various needs of the society including education from KG. to PG at all levels irrespective of sex, creed and religion.

Shailendra Education Society

Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 1994 with the launch of Commerce faculty. The Arts faculty was started in the year 1996. The college began with the primary objective of providing education to the lower socio-economic strata of the society who are very often the first generation learners. To increase the employability of the students the college launched self-finance courses from 2004 onwards. Under the self-finance courses BBI, BMS and B.Sc. (IT) courses are offered. The college has been sanctioned Research Centre in the Subject of Business Economics under the faculty of Commerce The College has undergone NAAC reaccreditation process in November 2011 and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.92.
