Shri Girdhar Prasad Mishra Degree College at Andheri (East) was established in 2005 under Self Finance Scheme. The college is managed by the Smt. Shyampatidevi Mishra Educational Trust established in 2004. The college has made significant contributions in the last half decade since its inception & has earned a name for its high academic & disciplinary standards. The college has been at the forefront in practicing innovative teaching methods. Besides the theoretical knowledge that our students imbibe from our well-qualified & energetic faculty, they also receive sound practical training to support their knowledge. In Shri G.P.M Degree College students are encouraged to pursue their studies vigorously while also participating in a variety of extra curricular, intellectual, cultural, sporting & community service activities. The trust was registered as a Public Trust in the year 1990 with an objective to lend a helping hand towards the welfare of the society and reform the educational system. In the year 1990, the trust kept its first step in the field of education and now it has become a conglomerate of premiere educational Institutions driven by Thakur family. The trust is a combination of premier educational Institutes, University accredited professional courses and autonomous courses. All the Institutions under this Thakur Educational Trust are ISO certified, which is an acknowledgement of the Institution capability to deliver and cater the need of the education with professionalism worldwide. The Thakur Educational Trust has catered various needs of the society including education from KG. to PG at all levels irrespective of sex, creed and religion.

Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 1994 with the launch of Commerce faculty. The Arts faculty was started in the year 1996. The college began with the primary objective of providing education to the lower socio-economic strata of the society who are very often the first generation learners. To increase the employability of the students the college launched self-finance courses from 2004 onwards. Under the self-finance courses BBI, BMS and B.Sc. (IT) courses are offered. The college has been sanctioned Research Centre in the Subject of Business Economics under the faculty of Commerce The College has undergone NAAC reaccreditation process in November 2011 and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.92.
